Oilseed Day was held in Brčko

In the organization of the Institute for Development and Improvement of Agriculture – IRUP Brčko and the company BIMAL, the Day of Oilseeds was held on the theme “Recognize, develop and maintain the production of oilseeds in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Thanks to the organizers, agricultural producers this year had the opportunity to meet in one place and talk with representatives of relevant institutions and professional bodies about current trends and the state of agricultural production.

“The strength and growth of domestic agricultural production also means the strengthening of our agricultural sector, and without equal development of both sides we cannot talk about quality food production by domestic producers, where the role of farmers is primary for the success of the food industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company BIMAL has the pleasure of investing in increasing the production of oilseeds year after year, and as a reliable buyer, it always gives preference to domestic producers,” said the President of the Management Board of STUDEN Group and the General Director of the BIMAL company, Mr. Ilija Studen.

Agricultural producers agree that production depends on many factors, and that the ability to predict the relationship between investment and earnings is extremely important. Incentives, mechanization, land quality and weather affect the competitiveness of production, and agrarian policy, in addition to guaranteed purchase, are additional stimulators for domestic farmers.

The relevant Ministries of the Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina pointed out that this year they managed to increase the budgets for agricultural incentives. The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the RS, Boris Pašalić, said that the agricultural budget of the Republika Srpska of 75 million KM is the largest in the last ten years, while the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina presented an incentive program for agriculture in the FBiH of 87 million KM, which is a record amount so far, of which allocations for plant production are planned in the amount of 12 million KM.

The Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Brčko District, Perica Burgić, agreed that the incentives are significant for our farmers, and that for 2020 year in the Brčko District amount to 9.6 million KM.

Institutional connection is the basis for increasing agricultural production and the quality of the plains, the conclusion of the held panel, whereby cooperation and maximum engagement of all relevant institutions are necessary in order to increase agricultural production.
